McCarran, United States' fifth-busiest airport and ninth worldwide, is the principal commercial airport serving Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County, Nevada.

The airport, like Las Vegas itself, is measured foremost on the experience it provides customers. From runway resurfacing to properly functioning climate controls to concession store CCTV security systems to the terminal's Wi-Fi network, McCarran must deliver a quality of experience to a diverse customer base with tough maintenance and operational demands. In fact, J.D. Power selected McCarran as the #1 ranked airport in customer satisfaction, citing its implementation of new technologies as a key factor.

Results
Ensure operational costs were in line with the airport's chargebacks to tenants and customers

Maximo seamlessly integrates with SAP and other key applications to provide a real-time view of asset and maintenance costs. McCarran can now manage its cost operational structure much more accurately to improve revenues.

Eliminate the many specialized siloed systems used by different divisions to manage their assets.

Consolidated management of all IT and operational assets under one unified platform. Maximo is now used for Facilities and IT asset management and the IBM Tivoli Service Desk for IT service management.

Improve airside regulatory compliance, especially the FAA's Part 139 inspections of airfield, runways, and other physical elements.

Staff can now meet regulations and report much more efficiently, capturing inspection information wirelessly via handheld devices, and using Maximo to manage work order to maintenance.

Use IT technologies and systems to improve the quality of the "customer experience" for McCarran Airport users.

J.D. Power selected McCarran as the #1 ranked airport in customer satisfaction, citing its implementation of new technologies as a key factor.
